BMX National is an organization for healing and empowerment, conducting activities that promote a healthy self-concept and cultural affirmation. We celebrates the contributions of Black LGBTQ and same gender loving (SGL) people. Celebrating our history enables us to reflect upon where we have come from while thinking strategically about the path forward.
Often our accomplishments are shrouded in erasure or secrecy because of their unique expressions of love. The contributions of luminary leaders have strengthened our social fabric. Leaders like Bayard Rustin, Marsha P. Johnson, Audre Lorde, Angela Davis, Mario Cooper, Tracee McDaniel and Tarell Alvin McCrane reaffirm our need to celebrate our history.
